Unionlearn
Thanks to a long-standing agreement between NEC and unionlearn, trade unionists are entitled to a 10% discount on the cost of our courses. If you’re a member of a trade union, simply let us know when you enrol and we’ll reduce the cost of your course accordingly.
Home educators
If you are educating your children at home, you are entitled to a 10% discount off any NEC course when paying in full.
A discount will be given at the point of enrolment and not retrospectively. Please call our course advice team on 0800 389 2839 to discuss your particular needs.
Forces
Members of the armed forces studying with us can take advantage of two sources of funding: the Standard Learning Credit (SLC) scheme and the Enhanced Learning Credits (ELC) scheme.
The SLC scheme allows military personnel to obtain financial assistance for distance learning courses up to Level 2 on the National Qualifications Framework (NQF), which is equivalent to GCSEs and IGCSEs, and also applies to some of our professional qualifications.
You’ll need to enrol on the SLC scheme before enrolling on a course: to do this visit your resettlement and education coordinator (or equivalent) to complete the necessary forms and check that your course is eligible for funding. If it is, you’ll be able to claim 80% of the cost of your course, up to a maximum of £175, through the scheme.
The ELC scheme is a similar programme that awards funding for qualifications at Level 3 (for example A levels) and above on the NQF.
There are a number of factors that affect funding applications: visit the ELC Administration Service website to find out more.
If you are serving with the Royal Navy, you should enrol through our partners the Marine Society.
