This privacy notice tells you about the information we collect from you when you use our website. When you download something from the website or sign up to the newsletter, we ask you for your name and email address. We’ll also ask how you heard about NEC.
We will ask for your consent to use your name and email address to contact you about our products and other information which we feel might be of interest to you.
You can withdraw your consent at any time and we will stop sending you the newsletter.
When you use the website:
When you use our website to browse our products and services and view the information we make available, a number of cookies are used by us and by third parties to allow the website to function, to collect useful information about visitors and to help to make your user experience better.

If you are under the age of 18, we will need the consent of your parent or guardian to hold any information about you. We will ask them to confirm that they are happy for NEC to hold details about you for the purposes of delivering our courses and services to you.

What do we do with your information?
Your information is stored in our systems which are mostly based with the European Union. We use some third-party systems which are based in the USA are certified to the EU-US Privacy Shield (which ensures that your information is protected to the same standards as if it were in the EU).
We do not use the information you provide to make any automated decisions that
might affect you.
We will never share your details with third-party organisations for marketing purposes. We may disclose personal information to third parties if:
- we believe it is necessary to investigate, prevent or take action regarding illegal activities, suspected fraud or potential threats against persons, property or the systems on which we operate the Service.
- required or permitted by law to protect the rights, property or personal safety of The National Extension College and our users or is required to comply with applicable laws, including compliance with warrants, court orders or other legal process.

How long do we keep your information for?
