Breadth of the bursary

This bursary is intended to enable adult learners to continue their education in order to return to the workplace or to help them to progress in their career. It is reserved for those for whom fiinance may be a barrier to study.

The NEC 60th Birthday Bursary will be for a maximum of £1,000 and will be for one student.

The total amount of the bursary awarded will be dependent on the course(s) chosen and must be fully spent within a period of two years (or sooner depending on the course(s) chosen and the course length(s)) from the award of the bursary in order to allow for exam fees, where applicable, to be covered by the bursary.

The successful applicant may use the bursary towards the full cost of your course fee(s) plus your exam fee(s) or any additional optional NEC tutorials or registration fees, if applicable, where these are fully covered by the maximum bursary amount.

Where the cost of your course(s) and exam fee(s) or any additional optional NEC tutorials or registration fees exceed the upper limit of the bursary, you will be required to cover any additonal excess costs yourself.

Students must enrol on at least one course to be eligible for the bursary. The bursary may not be used solely for exam or registration fees or towards additional optional NEC tutorials.

If the course cost(s) plus exam/additional optional NEC tutorial/registration fees amounts to less than £1,000 you will not be entitled to claim the balance of the bursary.

The bursary may not be exchanged for cash or other alternatives.
