NEC recommends that for standard A levels, you consider studying across two years. However, we understand that occasionally life gives you deadlines and sometimes some things simply can’t wait.

If you are a highly motivated individual with the time to dedicate yourself to 36 weeks of programmed study, and would like to improve your chances of achieving your desired grade. Our highly structured Fast Track A level Maths course could be the perfect option for you, and will help ensure you are ready to sit your exams in 2021.

Why study Fast Track A level Maths?

A structured Fast Track A level course is particularly useful if you’re studying with a specific purpose in mind, like applying to university, and need your grades quickly, applying for a new job, or seeking promotion. Perhaps you’re retaking an A level and still want to apply to your chosen university?

The flexible nature of distance learning and home study courses means that it’s possible to do this, as long as you’re able to schedule in enough study time. NEC’s Fast Track A level Maths course will follow the same topics as Pearson Edexcel’s maths A level. Through a schedule of work which has been carefully considered, you will complete the course within one academic year rather than two.

Your tutor

You’ll have access to support from a personal tutor. Our Fast Track A level courses will also include regular online tutorials. All NEC tutors are subject experts, with experience of supporting online learners.

Structured Fast Track tutor role:

  • To support and guide you throughout your course.
  • Provide extensive feedback on all assignments within 5 days
  • Marking past papers to help you prepare for exams
  • Delivery of tutorials (webinars) on each section of the course
  • Weekly input into forum e.g. to focus on each weeks study, to reflect and answer any queries
  • Student motivation and monitoring
  • Progress review (Christmas)
  • Provide predicted grade
  • Provide UCAS reference

What's included?

As well as gaining the same level of support all NEC students receive when they enrol. The Fast Track A level course fee will also include:

A scheduled course for a small cohort

  • 31st August – induction begins (Induction web tutorial and technical support available, recommended but optional)
  • 7th September – course begins
  • 36 weeks of programmed study and revision. Two week break at Christmas for holiday or catch up. The course will be scheduled on a weekly basis until mid-April
  • Mid-April until exam date: Revision period, including revision tutorials. Plus past paper marking

Live tutorials/lessons (webinars)

  • Introductory tutorial
  • Regular live tutorials – one per section
  • Further revision tutorial prior to exams
  • Webinars will be recorded so that students who do not attend can watch later

Comprehensive induction programme. To include:

  • Induction tutorial (webinar) to meet your tutor and meet fellow students
  • Learning profile
  • Guidance on active learning
  • Information on Practical Endorsements
  • Importance of practical/home experiments

Tutor role:

  • Assignment marking
  • Past paper marking to include 3 A level papers, provided by NEC 
  • Delivery of regular live online tutorials; students will be able to access recordings of tutorials if unavailable to attend live webinar
  • Mid-course review 
  • Weekly input into forum; including reflections on tutorials, and answering student queries
  • Student motivation and monitoring
