NEC’s creativity and the arts courses have been designed to help you develop your own practice as an artist or writer, whilst discovering more about the fascinating world of art and writing.
Art Techniques helps you to develop your own drawing and painting skills through examining different artistic methods and practice.
By studying Art History, you’ll learn about major figures, movements and developments in the art world from the 15th century to the present day. You’ll learn about the historical context in which these art works were created, and develop your understanding of how art reflects the times we live in.
If writing is your creative passion, Writing for Wellbeing will help you develop your writing skills whilst also encouraging personal growth enabling you to increase your mindfulness and emotional wellbeing through writing.

When you become an NEC student, you’ll be supported by one of our expert NEC tutors. As well as being a qualified teacher with experience of assessing and tutoring online learners, your tutor will have experience of working in the creative field of your chosen course.

Whilst our courses are flexible in terms of your study schedule, exam dates are set by the awarding organisation.
