Celebrating NEC’s 2026 GCSE Results
Every year, the National Extension College’s (NEC) GCSE candidates represent our diverse community of learners.
Whether they are returning to study as adult learners, balancing education alongside work and family commitments, or taking a flexible distance-learning path when conventional classrooms do not fit, our students demonstrate incredible focus and ambition.
Online GCSEs: A Flexible Route to Exam Success with NEC
As a not-for-profit, supported distance-learning college, NEC exists because education doesn’t look the same for everyone. Our students aren’t following a conventional classroom pathway.
Their 2026 GCSE results – backed by targeted tutor feedback and structured course content – highlight that focused determination.
NEC GCSE Results 2026: Pass Rates and Subject Highlights
Behind every exam entry, and every exam result, there is a story of hard work and dedication by NEC’s GCSE students. Our 2026 pass rates represent real people who have worked really hard to achieve their goals, their way.
“At NEC, we believe there is rarely only one path to achieving your ambitions. For some of our students, flexible learning provides a first opportunity to gain a qualification; for others, it offers another opportunity to pursue a goal that had previously been put on hold.” – Esther Chesterman, CEO of the National Extension College (NEC)

Behind the GCSE Results: NEC Student’s Success Stories
The grades achieved by all National Extension College students represent real people overcoming obstacles to unlock their next step – whether that is progressing to A levels, accessing higher education, or advancing their careers.
“I really liked being able to work at my own pace. If I wanted to spend longer on a topic, I could, and if something clicked quickly, I could move on. That flexibility gave me independence and confidence in my learning – skills I know will help me in the future. I’m so proud of what I’ve achieved and grateful to NEC for supporting me through my first experience as a private candidate. If anyone is thinking of taking a GCSE as a private candidate, I’d say go for it. It’s challenging, but it’s also hugely rewarding, and with NEC’s support, it really can run smoothly.” – Lauren
