The National Extension College’s (NEC) Structured Fast Track A levels are designed to help students progress quickly and confidently through their course with expert guidance every step of the way.

Several of our tutors work as examiners for major UK awarding bodies – meaning they are able to give our students valuable insight into how exams are marked and what examiners are really looking for.

What are Structured Fast Track A levels?
NEC’s Structured Fast Track A levels are designed for motivated learners who want to progress quickly and confidently and complete their A level qualification in one year.
They combine the flexibility of online learning with a clear study schedule to keep you on track, include regular deadlines, an Introductory Quiz to assess your starting point and tailor your learning journey, live teaching sessions with your tutor, ongoing tutor support, and a virtual Common Room where you can interact with other students on your course.
Structured Fast Track A levels are ideal for students who are:

SARAH SOLOMON: STRUCTURED FAST TRACK A LEVEL BIOLOGY
Passionate about helping every student succeed, regardless of their starting point, Sarah is an experienced Biology tutor with more than 20 years teaching experience, including 12 as Head of Science. She holds a degree in Biomedical Science, a PGCE in Science Education, and a Master’s degree.
Sarah has worked as senior examiner and team leader since 2009, and provides students with an elite insight into exam techniques for both A level Biology and IGSCE Biology; adapting her teaching to suit individual learning styles.

Fun fact
Sarah is a lifelong Biology enthusiast whose love for the subject grew through studying human anatomy. Outside teaching, she enjoys flying radio controlled planes.
SCOTT GEORGESON: STRUCTURED FAST TRACK A LEVEL CHEMISTRY
Scott has over 30 years of teaching experience and has taught across the world in roles including Head of Science and School Principal. Believing practical work is essential for helping students understand complex scientific ideas, Scott’s teaching style focuses on making Chemistry engaging, challenging, and accessible – using practical hands-on methods to simplify abstract concepts.
Scott believes strong tutor relationships are key to success, and focuses on building a strong student rapport to deliver highly engaging, personalised, and challenging tutoring sessions.
Fun fact
Scott is an outdoor enthusiast who loves hiking, wildlife, gardening and all things sci-fi.
COLLEEN YOUNG: STRUCTURED FAST TRACK A LEVEL MATHS
Colleen is a highly qualified Mathematics and IT specialist with degrees from the University of Manchester and a Master’s degree from UCL. She is also a member of the Chartered Institute of Educational Assessors and brings extensive examining experience to her tutoring.
Combining deep subject knowledge with practical exam expertise to help students succeed, Colleen’s focus is on helping students overcome fear of Maths, build confidence, and ensure every student reaches their full academic potential.

Fun fact
Colleen loves reading, recreational mathematics, and music. She also has a passion for dance, having previously competed in Ballroom and Latin, and danced with the University of Manchester Dance Team, Colleen’s dancing nowadays is Dance Fit classes at the gym.
AMY: STRUCTURED FAST TRACK A LEVEL MATHS
Amy is a Mathematics and Economics tutor with more than ten years of teaching experience. She holds a First Class BA (Hons) in Economics and a PGCE in Mathematics. She serves as a Lead Examiner and an exam paper writer.
This gives Amy detailed knowledge of how exams are written and assessed, allowing her to build student confidence and curiosity, whilst equipping them with the specific techniques needed to achieve top grades.
Fun fact
After moving from London to Surrey, Amy now enjoys countryside walks and fresh air with her two young daughters.
JENNIFER: STRUCTURED FAST TRACK A LEVEL HISTORY OF ART
Jennifer is a PhD-qualified Art Historian, writer and researcher, and an Associate Lecturer at the University of the Arts in London. She specialises in contemporary art, focusing on identity and ecologism.
One of NEC’s Subject Ambassadors, Jennifer is an active researcher who brings high-level academic rigour and international expertise to her tutoring.

Fun fact
Jennifer is a writer passionate about women artists and explores how utopian imagination can shape our future.
LAURA: STRUCTURED FAST TRACK A LEVEL HISTORY OF ART
Laura has loved History of Art since studying it herself at A level. She holds a History of Art degree from the University of Reading, a Master’s degree from Oxford University, and teaching credentials from Cambridge University.
She has taught Art and Design, Photography, and History of Art across multiple levels and has extensive experience delivering A level History of Art online, equipping students with the analytical skills needed to master diverse artistic periods and techniques.

Laura is a lifelong art lover with a passion for making art history accessible to everyone through engaging high-energy teaching.
